| i,m a glutton for punishment well after yesterdays attempt i could not think of nothing else most of the day and as much as i tried to put it out of my mind the more i wanted to get out again and bank a zed so as soon as i done my work for the day. i got on the phone to Barrie c (fenland hobo ) and Gary (the lure meister ) who were both going to be out this evening but none of us had arranged to go together but we were all going to be on different drains this evening which would be interesting to see how every one feared . i made the 60 mile journey down to the drains in horrible weather and hoped it would let up by my arrival but instead it got worse and with a chilly easterly wind blowing straight in my face the fishing was not going to be easy at all . i made up all the rods with two were going to be on lives and the other on a punctured dead bait popped up of the bottom straight of the lead on a 18" trace and this was going to be fished to the far side slope and it was not going to be easy getting over with this increasing wind both the other rods were placed either side of the dead bait rod one in the margin to my left and the other straight out just over a third . i put my barrow on the side to shelter the stove but there was no reason to have bothered as i found out i,de left my lighter at home so no coffee for me this evening  .i moved the dead bait about searching the swim and recast it every 15 but no joy at all nor did either of my other rods get any attention again i was facing yet another blank which now makes 15 trips with one zed being banked and its not just down to the weather why i,m not catching . so on packing up i went and joined Barrie c for a while to have a coffee and a chat and see how he was doing and he was doing and he too was blanking but only time will tell by the morning if he managers a fish or too (good luck barrie) tightlines Kevin  Last edited by baitmaster; 02-10-2007 at 07:57 AM.     |

I was going to give up on shore fishing, after 10 blanking sessions.....but I stuck with it and I got rewarded.
