A Hotspot On A Cold Night

Last night i went off for another crack at the Zander on the canal with 2 fishing buddies.
I had a new area in mind to try but it meant a twenty minute walk along the towpath to get there but my mates were up for it so off we marched.
20 minutes later we were in the area i fancied,it was very bright with a big moon as we walked along we went past some good looking area,s along the way and we were tempted by many of them to stop walking and try them but we decided to keep going to the area in mind.
By 7:20pm we were fishing 2 rods each spread out covering approx a 50 yd stretch myself on the right dave on the left and ray in the middle on either dead roach or gudgeon.
Within 5 mins ray had a take and a 4lber on the bank,a good start, but that was only the start of a hectic spell, within minutes of starting fishing we had all caught fish,by the end of the first hour dave had had 4 fish to 4lb 7oz, ray had 8 with a big surprise of an 8 lb 14 oz new pb and a 5lb 15oz and i had 1 at 2lb and we also had missed runs aswell.
After that 1st hour it did slow down as you would expect, any way we fished til 12:30 am,by then Dave had caught from the left 5 Zeds to 4lb 7 oz having had approx 8 runs,Ray sat in the middle and had 12 Zeds upto 8lb 14oz and had approx 20 runs and i had 2 Zeds upto 2lb and had 4 runs,.
What a night, obviously my mate Ray was sat right in the hotspot it was unbelieveable how his rods were constantly going.
By the time we packed up it was freezing, but that 20 minute march back to the car had us warmed up again.
Hopefully it will be me in the hotspot next time
