just an excuse really

now this morning my new mesh for my landing net arrive from Dave lumb i have to say i,m very impressed as i only ordered it yesterday at 10 am and for it to arrive with me by 9 am the following morning i think is very good service indeed (thanks for a prompt service ) .
any way i threaded this on to my landing net arms right i thought no more getting trebles caught in my landing net now as this mesh seems to prevent the hooks from piecing the material .
after this was done i had to nip up the toy shop to do a bit of crimbo shopping and i had to pass the tackle shop now it would have been rude of me to drive by and not call in especially as i spent 2hours in there Sunday morning and walk out with out buying any thing .
so i stopped as there was something that caught my eye and i just had to get it NOW! just in case there was a surge in people wanting it so i best get one quickly
any once i had purchased this item it gave me the perfect excuse to go on a special extra session just to try my new bits out .
now no point you reading this shaking your head at the computer screens i bet you,ve all done it come on own up
any way i spoke to her who must be obeyed and by some miracle i got away with getting out so it was gear in car and as the film title goes (gone in sixty seconds )
soon i was at my location and all gear was set up and i cast the first rod to get it clipped up for the range i wanted to fish on the lead hitting the bottom i flicked over the bail arm and went to reel it back and thought that's strange my leads come to life what had happen a pike had actually taken the baitless trace and it was proper hook as well i soon had in out and unhooked and released at least my new net been christened .
any way the rest of the evening was less eventful with no runs coming regardless what i did but i was not bothered cause my new bling is brilliant and worked brilliantly too.
now i suppose you are now wondering what i,m on about and you can,t take the suspense any longer and you want to know ? what i,ve got well here it is................................

its a headlight new on the market not been out very long at all .( does this mean i got to stand up at the TTA meeting and say i,m , ermmmm , umm an well i,m a angler )
The LED LENSER made by optoelectronics costs £44.99
what i liked about it was how bright the single light is and its got a secondary
led which is red and will aid in unhooking fish on the bank with out them thrashing around because you have dazzle them with a white led light .

Re: just an excuse really

Nice one Kev. Good to see you've taken to catching fish without even using bait.. That should stop all the mucking around trying to catch bait fish and taking up all your valuable pred fishing time...!

Like the head torch too. Mind you when I first saw it, it looked to me like it had some sort of night vision scope. Now that'd be COOL! A head torch with a drop down night vision monicle.

However I do see one problem with it. Where's the camo mate? Surely with that thing strapped to your head you'll stand out like a sore thumb, even when it's switched of...
