the right result but we wanted more !!

well once i went tonight hardly surprising really as at the moment as i,m on a mini run of fish all though was feeling really tired after last nights late one .
Gary (the lure meister) wanted to go out again after last night and i could hardly refused as every time we have been out he yet to have banked a zed based on the bait rods while fishing with me and i wanted to change that .
so the choice was going to be mine i knew from how the weather had been and the barometer rising slightly every day it was going to put the fish down but i,m hoping it will change and start to drop again
i met up with Gary i he followed me down to where i was going to take him and we had a good look there was a good south westerly blowing down the drain and this made both of us more confident tonight than last night for some reason , me because i had a hunch about this spot and i wanted to fish it day before but had not had the chance Gary was confident as he the conditions were good for a run or two .
we were both soon ready and the rods placed at various spots across the width of the drain .
now i all ways kept my rigs simple and never tried to over complicate them but all ways felt that placing them in the area,s that wander were likely to patrol and feed in would give me a better than normal chance of a fish and tonight was going to be not different but a little more work twitching and moving baits would be required if a fish was going to grace the net but if no fish came to me i hoped Gary (the lure meister ) did .
we settle back for a coffee and relaxed for a while before we gave the rods there first recast .
as i said i really hoped Gary was to catch and when my left hand rod signal some interest i thought here we go again .
it did not fight to hard but this might be because tonight the drain was coloured from the drinking drwnearlier that day Gary soon had it in the folds of the net and we went and weighed it and weight of 6lb 1oz was recorded .

again this was safely released and the rod rebaited again another good start and i hoped it was going to be better as soon as Gary banked a zed .
for the next hour nothing happened and with the wind dropping slightly so had our confident .
then right out of the blue Gary got a take on his dead bait rod it stopped we both waited for the bobbin to move and i really hoped it would.
it twitch Gary was poised to strike like a cobra it twitched again then started to rise steadily Gary leaned forward and struck the rod back and a satisfying curve developed in his rod, i got down to the edge and placed the net ready in the water and watch and waited for the water in front of me to be broken by a defiant zed thrashing and shaking its head trying to throw the hooks .
sure enough there it was in front of me i wasted no time and scooped it up in a instant at last gary had a zed while bait fishing with me so the and it was well deserved .
soon it was unhooked and it weighed in at 7lb 15oz i did the honurs and took a few pics for him .

well done gary (lure meister )
after that the kettle was on and we were joined by barrie for a social we fished on and baits were twitch and moved but all are effort were un-rewarded and by 9.30pm we called it a night purely i think the late session the night before probably was taken its toll a bit but tonight.
