barries not inviting me again to his spot

yesterday was chatting with barrie and i made the decission to join him for a session although he was going to do the whole night .
soon we were at his choice and i went off and found a good looking spot and proceeded in clearing the reeds so i could get my rods out this had to be done quickly as the sun was setting fast .
i went again for sleeper rod to my right which was set up with simple ledger tactics with a fresh dead (roach) fished on a trace with size 8,s on it this was cast out and would be left alone to see if some thing would pick it up but with the clear skies and plummeting temperturesi was not sure if this was a good tactic at all .
i fished a ledgered paternoster along the reed bed just of the inside slope .
and the third rod was on a ledger stem and cast into the middle .
i decided to twitch these two rods every half an hour up until around 8pm and then the rest of the session they would be left alone the session went on with no runs coming but in these conditions we were not that confident but we had a laugh a few coffee,s to keep the cold out .
any way also we exchange a few idea,s and barrie seemed impressed with one of my home made items which he could see the benfits of it straight away and i can see him making these up himself .
i left barrie to it at around 11 pm but up till then we had not even had a touch i wish him well and left and made the journey home .

how did you end up barrie ??

tightlines
kevin

Re: barries not inviting me again to his spot

Kevin,

had a 4lb jack Pike at 8:00am this morning, just as I was packing up - on Smelt!

I guess, i will be taking your advice that this area can be devoid of fish at this time of year (should have listened yesterday!)

Still conditions where poor, though company was a good laugh and i learnt a few things.

I couldn't take a photo of the pike - honestly! i was surrounded by Match anglers this morning and my ego wouldn't let me do it

Thanks for coming down, I'll be mobile next time

Barrie
