Hi all,

Great write up.

When you guys go fishing for the day - night or whatever, what do you take with you? I am finding your reports fascinating but as a charter fisherman I cannot fathom out what gear you take when you take off for a session.

i would just to say that although it was not below freezing but the dramatic drop in temperature the last day or so really made it felt as if winter was upon us, and the need for keeping warm and dry on the bank does and is important as you can easerly be caught out ,
hypothermia can creep up on any one fishing whether it on the fens, lakes, beach or out afloat in a boat or any other places where you are not overly actively moving.
so any of you going out and about check your warm clothing ,boots ,ect are up to the task , it just as important as the tackle you use .
and hot drinks are also important take a flask or stove to brew up a warm drink, soup, ect

sound advice kev,for all you inexperienced anglers out there,kev has got it spot on,woolly hat ,long johns,mittens and scarves,it doesn't matter what you look like as long as you are warm

well we normally take predator rods which mine are a 2lb test curve but normally they are about 2.1/2lb to 3lb test .
shimano fixed spool reels loaded with 12lb line an array of terminal tackle which will consist off various items to fish different tactics simple speaking these items will allow us to fish either float or ledger tactics and wire traces with size 8,s or size 10,hooks on then .
we also take a 12ft float rod set up which again consist of a light set up for bait catching .

oh and not forgetting the stove for making a hot brew on

on a note about the cold weather, just have to say i recently purchased a sundridge igloo mk 3 suit, and have to say its one of the best bits of kit ive seen! this suit would keep anyone warm on those freezing fen nights! not cheap but highly recommended, well worth the price!
