| No Eels! Couple of apologies first: Had to drop of the shoutbox quickly yesterday, due to a customer problem (I work from home, when I'm not out doing visits) So apologies to Perch_King as we were well into a conversation and Baitmaster as I didn't get round to letting him know where i would be last night  I managed to get down the drain to a favourite venue at about 4:00pm and decided to take a short walk to a deep area, i've always like the look of. Had some difficulty in getting any baitfish, but persisted until nearly to dark to see a float and got together enough fish for the night. At about 12:30am, I had a very positive run and a fish on for a minute until the hooks pulled, it felt like a very good fish (but the ones you lose always do!) Next the floating weed made a brief appearance so all the rods were taken in and replaced exactly where i wanted them. At 1:30am I had a run and was grateful to land a Zander of about 5-6lb. All was quite until 2:30 when the other rod (close in) screamed off and I landed a lovely Zed of 10lb 5oz! So proceeded my first attempt at self photography - oh dear! Still its framed reasonably, but I need to set up for a brighter photo!  Really pleased with the nights fishing and I noticed some subtle changes in the fishing since I was last here 3 weeks ago: 1. No eels 2. The fish where all very lightly hooked 3. Reduced baitfish activity So I guess the change in season's is starting to take effect. Cant wait to get out again next week! | Re: No Eels! great zed barrie top zedding mate yes regardless that we think its mild the fish know chnages are a foot and will soon be turning up in there wintering quarters so the next month will be interesting in how it fishes as it now should set the pattern for the rest of the winter . tightlines kevin  |
