third time unlucky

well went again tonight and it was a last minute session and phoned Dan and he was up for it .
well me a Dan had been twice before and Dan had not had a fish yet so i really wanted to work hard to catch him one tonight but again all my hard work came to nothing and again we blank (hmmm there's a pattern forming here )
but we still enjoyed a good evening watching the lightning
any way with this third blank for Dan his attitude was
" well when i catch one it will that much sweeter " great way of looking at it especially when you consider its 360 mile in three trips for no fish to keep up beat like Dan has been takes a lot of doing
so i say fair play to you Dan

so we know what we are going to do next time Dan don,t we ??

tightlines
Kevin

Re: third time unlucky

I still enjoyed another good evening, it's a great place to fish and have a social which doesn't make the blank so bad.

But I will catch one next time!!!!

Re: third time unlucky

Kevin, keep those reports coming, they make great reading - I hope your keeping them on record off-line - could be a book one day.

I wonder if you guys where further up the Drain from me? I hope the weed didnt reach you - strange weather wasn't it?
Dan it took me what felt like forever to get my first Zander - but when you do its a great feeling and I'm sure with Kevin's help it wont be long.

Re: third time unlucky

no we did not fish the level last night as like yourself we did not get out till
7pm
funny thing was we were going to pop down to the releif to see you but you would not have been there any way .
the trick with the relief is to take a good book to read.
you are about the hundreth person to say about writing a book thank you for the compliment anyway .
i do have records of all my zed posts .
but i don,t beleive i have the abilities yet as i still am learning the fen drains regardless that i,ve fished them for over fifteen years as they are vast and varied and each has it own litte unique ways from they daunting relief to the small feeder drains that get very little attention but can throw up a surpise or two to the aventurous angler who is prepare to experiment
also i would like to have a few more big zeds banked and a few more stories to tell .
then there are other water i like to fish around the country to be able to show how far this unique predator has spread itself in its breif 43 year history of being introduced all the years ago into the relief. (1963)
but as far as writing a book i can,t see my self doing it but funnier things have happened .
now i know there is very little wrote on zander and only three books i know of on the subject of zander so far which are ther first and second aditions of ficklings and rickards book ZANDER and a friend and who inspired me steve youngers book fenland zander .
also my good friend and super zander angler mark barret has wrote a book not sure if it actually been released yet (joy of zedding )
also an important factor is demand and i know from what mick brown told me that you have to remember zander are a still in minority and few really chase them seriously.
but this also could be because there is so little written that few take up the chasing them but they are getting a dedicated following .
but i am going to try and produce a dvd but like every thing it can,t just be rushed and certain elements have to be put in to place first .

Re: third time unlucky

I agree and i said it before, you should try to write a book, it's always a pleasure of reading your reports, well lay out, good info and exiting to read.

Unlucky on the blank guys but as said before,Dan, once you get your first zan, it'll be sweet like candy.
