rain, wind, and moving water

well yesterday i decided to go zedding again but i had a bit of time to go and get some bait first so of i went with my waggler set up .
the bait catching went well and i soon had a few nice baits to use and i even manage a bleak 1. 1/2 points .

once i got enough bait it was off down the drain to catch a zed or two as i walked down the drain the wind was getting up and i looked to my left and there was a big black cloud head over me i think im going to get a bit wet .
i walked a bit faster to try and get to my spot so i could get the brolly up but no it started .
also they started to gentlyt pull the drain which i like as the bait fish move into the magins where i will be placing a bait or two .
good thing was is was over very quick but i was now wet i set the rods up i set one up as a fixed paternoster and the other to on ledger stems .
these were placed in there spots and i sat back to wait .
nothing happened and we were now into dusk so i had a change round trying to find the illusive zander .
it was around 8. 45 pm when i got my first run but this was aborted i checked the bait for the destintive punture marks but there was none . i out a fresh bait on and sent it back out .
the next rod to go was the margin rod this was not stopping and the bobbin was up at the top when i reached the rod and the tip was starting to bend round i picked the rod up and leant back into what ever was there but again nothing .
again a new bait was put on and put back in the margin then i got a run on the rod just at the bottom of the shelf i struck and connected with the zed . it was not huge but it tried to get in the lillies so i walked downto the edge to get a better angle on him to steer him away but he got in .
i got him to the suface and i could not see it was a zed which i estimated it was about 6lb .
then it happened i got the lead link tangle in the lillies and the zed was shaking his head in anger and the hooks came out and the zed swam back down leaving me with a lillie leaf .
i checked my hooks to make sure it did not falloff cause a had burred a point but it was razor sharp .
i fished on for another another hour but no further action happened so i called it a day .

tightlines
kevin

Unlucky Kev. Still 1 1/2 points means it wasn't a completely unproductive trip eh?

Next time mate.

Rich.
