quick session

i was sitting at home and the urge to get my rods and go fishing was prodding me like a finger being pushed into my arm saying go on you know you want to .
so finally at 6.55pm i decided to go so grabbing a few deads out of the freezer of i went .
while driving down i was thinking what drain to drop on to do i fish a new water or do i go to my favourite drain that has been so kind to me over the years decision made it was to my favourite drain .
i decided to go to a known spot that throws up a few zeds, and also as it was going to be gone 8 o,clock i did not fancy a long walk and as i was only going to be a couple of hours a easy accessable spot was going to be the choice from a time factor to as i was only going for a couple of hours .
soon my three rods were set up and all would have deads on them two roach and a small rudd i done away with the sunken float paternoster and quickly changing it to a ledgered paternoster again one was sent over to the far shelf the other down to my left and the third bang in the middle .
i sat back on my chair to relax but this was not to be as my rod in the centre of the drain just sent the bobbin straight to the top i was soon onto it and the rod gave its destinctive satisfying curve then the tell tell shake could be felt and i knew i had a zed.

it stayed deep and hugged the inside shelf trying to get amongst the near side lillies .
i manage to stair it around the lillies some how and with gentle pressure it came up on the surface and stated thrashing around shaking it head trying to shake the offending hooks out of its mouth .
i soon had it over thge waiting net and i quickly unhooked it and put the landing net back in the water as i had not had tiome to set up the camera so thiswas done then it was back with the fish for a quick photo , with this done
the zed was placed back in the water and just to stimulate it i slid it back and forth to get it going it kick but i had hold of it the it gave a huge kick spraying me with water as it shot off to reak more havoc .
7lb

another small roach was impaled and sent out to the middle i went back to my chair rubbing my hand thinking this is going to be the night .
i moved the baits about every twenty minutes trying to interrcept another zed as i believed these to be moving through this area and not fish that are present as they are in some area,s .
but that was that it was my only run of the evening and soon it was ten o,clock which saw me packing up and heading home i was not dissappointed as i caught .

tightlines
kevin
