a early morning call

well with first my back then a couple of very slow session and the my dentist trip i thought i was not going to get out for a proper session but i have managed one over the week end .
firstly i had been thinking why the runs had drop in my last couple of session and i was firstly concerned i had pressured the fish away from the area but i dismissed this although i still felt it had a bearing on the fish being banked .
now as the evening are drawing out they do have a tendacy to feed either later or during day time .
so the plan was to do an overnighter in the area but move about 200yards further down the drain just in case they had move away .
soon the found myself standing on the bank side looking out along the drain thinking where is the weather that had been forcast .
soon i had my bivvy up all the essential tucked away for the coming night and the all important kettle was soon billowing steam into the afternoon air.
once i had enjoyed this coffee , i went about setting the rods for what i hope dto be another successful session but only over the next few hours would i actually find out .
soon the rods were out and i enjoyed the late afternoon sunshine and my paternoster was soon snatched by a small pike of about 6lb i wished it a long life and watched it swim away for a moment.
i baited this rod again with a small bait and sent it close along the reed line.
it was now starting to get dark and the sun was nearly down when i had a short sharp take on the middle rod but stopped ,i crouched down behind the rod and watched the rod tip, it slowly dipped ever so gently so i moved behind the rod and waited and sure enogh it jumped into action and i weas straight into a very fiesty zed the battle was short and the fish was banked and weighed at 8lb .

soon it was back out and not alot happened and i thought that was it so i turned in i can,t remember falling asllep but i do remember being awoke by a one toner and i was soon scurrying along to my far rod i hti into a nother zed which gave it self away with its distintive head shake ,again this was soon banked and a weight was taken of 6lb 6oz and it looked good

again this was soon let loose i looked at the time and it had just gone 5 am
soon it was back to the centre and i popped the kettle on as i was now up , any excuse i say for a cuppa .
i was just pouring out the kettle when the rod i had just cast out was off again and again i was soon on it and again bent into a better fish it took a couple of dives to escape but i hung on to it well and it was in the folds of the net and soon being carried to the top again i wieghed it and it was just shy of a double at 9lb 12oz but still a very good fish .

this was released and i was now starting to beleive that they had certainly changed there feeding time wether this is due to the time of the year or due to befish pressured into it but truthfully will will never really know .
again i reboiled the kettle and made my cuppa a really enjoyed it i got a brief rest bite before my left hand rod was off now and it was a stuttery sort of run but i managed to contacted with it and it gave another good account for it self and as it flandered on the surface my impressions were it was a double but on weighing it it went 9lb 10oz

Wow this is turning out to be a cracking session and now the morning light was starting to creep up on me and i had not really noticed ,i looked around and took in the silence of the early morning and could make out the pair of grebes starting to work to my right .
when all of a sudden my left hand rod indicated to me a run starting to materialise so a worked my way over to it and it was soon bending my tip over and giving the thumps of a zed, again it fought well and it was soon on the surface and once again it look a big zed but again in the ealry morning light it went 9lb 14oz but it was still a cracking fish .

i took a last glance at it as it sunk into the depth and was thinking this is a very hectic session maybe they are feeding hard because the weather is going to turn cold again for a few days . the morning was now starting to open out into a good bright morning and i thought i was now getting to bright for any more runs when i was proven wrong and i was striking into yet another zed it scrapped well and look really good the morning light a couple of pics were taken on another cracking zed of 7lb 10oz

sadly that was the last run of the morning but i really did not mind and enjoyed watching the grebes feed well and every time i tried to take a pic they would dive as if they were shy but i did finally manage to get a pic and here it is nice way to finish my hectic session with a tranquill pic of a grebe
