forget the dentist i managed to get out well it was more of a sympahty session from the missus as she knew i had the dreaded dentist in the morning any way i reluctantly loaded the car at the pace of a gazzelle on speed and was soon driving the 50/60 miles to where i wanted to go .soon i was walking the bank looking for likely spots and checking on the conditions i felt chances would be on the cards .after walking back to the car to collect up my tackle and wander back to the selected swim rod were soon together and out acrooss to the far side and one was place close in to the near bank reeds then it was time too settle back put the kettle on and enjoy the obligatory coffee to get the sesh on it way . quite a while had past and it was getting close to sunset before the first run came to my sunken float paternoster and i was soon playing a pike of around 6lb although this was not weighed just estimated then returned . this rod was soon back out but i felt i had made a mistake in swim choice and i had to make another quick decision to move ,and this was decided and a move of about 300yds would now be done. firstly all the the rods where moved and then my other gear was soon in the new swim too rod were baited and in the half light were noow set to the spots which i hoped would snare me a zed , again the kettle was on and soon i was supping my coffee and was looking across the now silky smooth surface of the drain and enjoying the shiny silver moon reflection on thinking was it a full moon or a day early but never the less just the stillness of the night with the odd grebe could be heard ,and the swans drifting quietly passed in the quite bright moon through the high cloud making them look greyish in colour. suddenly out of the silence an indicator sounded and i was on it in an instant but it was dropped and sat by the rod for a few minutes and then recast it back out and settle back again . a further hour past and nothing happen and i was thinking it was yet again going to be one of those session when again my middle rod shot off again i was to the rod quickly and this too was dropped and another chance had gone begging . it was now getting to be about 8,30 and up until now all the session i have reported on all runs and fish have been fallen before this time so sadly the decission was made to pack up . although i blanked on the zander front i know i will soon be back and hey lets face it it stopped me thinking of the dentist so it was not all bad tightlines baitmaster ![]()

Nice report Baitmaster. I would think that looking at all those Pike teeth would not let you forget the dentist!!! Perhaps you should have gone for a fish with a few less teeth like Bream. At least you did'nt blank mate. __________________ "The fish and I were both stunned and disbelieving to find ourselves connected by a line." William Humphrey "

Re: forget the dentist yes i could help you . if our locations were closer a trip or two to the fens would probably see you grinning like a cheshire cat with your first ever zed . how ever you live down south which makes it harder firstly i would have find a water near you containing zeds which would not be easy as i,m not to sure where the closest is to your location but yes i would help you catch your first but i,m passing through kent on my way to france soon but i,m using the tunnel not the ferry tightlines baitmaster ![]()
