nice to get back out there

well i took a chance with me back and it held up to thge riggers of the session so i,m happy .
been getting impatient in the last couple of days waiting for a chance to go out and try and get amonst them zeds again ,and tonight was my first time out for a few days due to my back injury .the car was loaded with the tackle and the hour journey seem to take an age but soon i wqas looking down the drain from the bridge trying to decide whether i go for the full assault and walking to a far swim , or take the easy option of fishing near the bridge .
I pondered the decision for a few minutes taking in the blustery condition and there no being a lot of cloud cover but i was sure it would move in a bit later .
the decision was made and a swim half way between my two earlier thoughts was picked , only seemed fair not to far not to close to the bridge only time would tell now whether it was the right decision .
soon i was unzipping the rod bag and the rods were all sitting on there indicators waiting to be baited up .
once the kettle was put on and base camp establish and landing net made up the rods were decorated and sent to likely spots .
i was soon sitting drinking my coffee hundling behind my brolly trying to get shelter from the now quite strong south westerly wind .
as the sun set my far rod signaled a take i quickly was over to it and struck into a scrappy fish i played it a while then all of a sudden it popped up on the surface and was soon netted .a quick unhooking job by the water edge saw me releasing the pike quickly it looked around 9lb or 10lb .
soon the rod was back out and and i put every thing back it its place ready for the next run .
it did not take to long for my centre rod to give me a few bleeps and i soon was upon the rod i waited for the bobbin to rise again and sure enough it did and i was soon sweeping the rod back and getting that satifying thump from a zed YES !! i thought to myself .
once again the fish really did give a good account of it self but was again soon safely in the net waiting to be unhooked , gased into the net a looked at the fish thinking this ones close to a double ,but alas on weighing it it went 9lb 12oz still a bloody good fish and yet another 9 plus for me .

this fish was soon released and i thanked it and was really happy with my self that the spot had produce me a zed .
again i made myself a coffee and got behind the brolly to get out of the wind i also decided to put my neck warmer on due to not wanting to get a draft down my neck and give me more probs with my back .
soon i was nice a cosy supping my coffee and enjoying the early evening and i was just drifting off into a ( what if this happened ) when suddenly my far rod was off again .i got out from my cosy spot and hit the fish quickly and it scraped for a couple of minutes but soon succumed to the battle .
again this was weighed and a quick photo was taken then it was release to go cause more havoc elsewhere .

6lb 7oz

again it was back out hoping for more zeds to spring the trap which had just be reset .
but this was the last run .
on reflection of the session it was difficult with the wind once again funneling down the drain but again i managed a couple of zeds and ii,m happy about that but more interestingly these two zeds tonight coming from where i was situated has made me re-think where i believed them to be holding up , and further investigation into the area will now have to be done .
