zed in the snow report

well christmas has been brilliant and its now the calm before new years and me a mate have decided to go zedding overnight we arrived at my mates favourite location and we went about getting are swims picked and tackle sorted .
by three o.clock my bivvy was up (well hotel as every one else calls it )
all my rods were also ready to cast out .i decided to have a coffee before i got started as it was going to be in no rush as it was going to be an all nighter .
we discussed the options and the possibility of having a zed in the snow as it was all ways something i have wanted to due . the rods were despatched into the water in area that i felt would give me every chance of a run or two ,and the way i fish overnighter are actually different in the way i do not constantly move the baits about i fish basically static and wait for a run as trying to work to hard on these type of session can tire you out .
i did not have to wait long as my dead bait was off and i quickly struck into a small zed which was brought under control very quickly soon unhooked and released safely 4lb 10oz ,this rod was soon back out and i retreated back to my bivvy and thought (where is the snow they forecast ) .once again the rod next to the one i just cast out was under investigation from something but soon left it and made its lucky escape . my mate came up to my bivvy with another coffee and we sat chatting for a while when suddenly my dead bait rod bobbin twitched into life it stopped and then shot up to the underside of the rod i picked up the rod swepted it back and once again i connected with what felt like a nice zed . and few seconds past and the zed was beaten and soon in the waiting net it was soon unhooked and my mate done a few pics and it was released back to reek more mayhem below, this went 11lb 12oz

another double has been banked and i,m still on a roll soon the swim had gone quiet and we sat thinking about the so called snow we were meant to have and would i get another zed when it arrives the night past with no more action from me or my mate but we were woken by this site

and my rods and reels were not alot better

so the snow did come, and i technically had one in t that just splitting hairs really need the snow to be on the ground before i catch the zed but there you go another good session for me anyway but a very cold pack away

tightlines

Great read BM, what a sight to wake up to. I'd have tuffed it out for a Quality Zed like that one

Re: zed in the snow report

Smashing report BM! Those conditions look bleak, but hey when you catch a zed like that, who cares?! Lovely pics mate, makes me feel cold just looking at them
