Talking A Blank Day............

Well yesterday me and a pal had planned to go Piking on the Kings' Sedgemooe Drain again, this time at a secret big Pike location.

I had scanned the drain the previous day as I had to visit customers in the area on Wednesday and the drain level was low as the rain water had been run off, there was still slight colour in it but it was fishable.

So the trip was on....unfortunately during the night we had some torrential showers. We met up the next morning and had a look at the drain. It was still low but powering through like thin chocolate...so unfishable! B*gger!

Our banker was the Canal...so we drove the 10 minutes or so to find that it too was high and coloured...red this time so we moved to a small lake called Screech Owl, that too was high but crystal clear. We tossed a coin for the most Pikey looking swim...I lost my pal caught 3 best 6lbs I blanked but we had an enjoyable day, especially when I phoned him to tell him his float was on its way to my side of the lake.....he had fallen asleep!!

I had one run that was dropped and that was it for 5 hours.
