zeds

well again i got to go and i am glad i did because again the zed gods were shining on me. any way i arrived at the drain in question at about 3.45 pm to give me time to get to where i was going to start which was a good walk and the reason for this was so i could work back to the car. once i was at the starting point i sorted out the gear so every thing was organised . rods where put together and drop in the margins as the drain was being run off just how i like it and i went up to sit quietly a wait to see what would happen the first run came surprisingly quick and i battle to keep it out of the reeds but soon the zed was on its side a sliding into the net a weight of 8lb was recorded and a couple of pics were taken and the fish was to be released at the far end of the swim but had to be released infront of me in a panic as my far indicater alerted me to some more bait mugging going on i scramble over to the rod and quickly swept to rod backwards to be greeted by that satisfying thump of a zed shaking its head i got my balance and promptly drop the fish (bugger i thought ) both rods were again placed in the margins and the wait was on and wait i did for an hour nothing happened and i decided to up sticks and move along the drain as i thought they must be heading away from me soon the rods were back in new positions up the drain and i sat back and had a coffee .soon again my far right rod was under attack by the bait muggers and again i missed the fish and returned the baited rod back out i just got back to my seat when the rod i just cast back out bleeped as to tease me and i thought it was settling and ingnore the bleep this made what had picked the bait up made as next thing i knew the bobbin was up under the rod and it was off and so was i ,i was down at the now not so quiet rod and once again i swept it back and that all to familiar bend curved it way down the rod and it was staying deep twice a got it close to the net but it was not going to give up easerly and with the flow it was quite a battle soon i was bringing it up to the top and netting a good zed . i soon wieghed it and picture were taken it was a cracking fish of 9lb 14 oz i was happy now but shame it was not a double i wish it well and watch it drift of into the depth again the rod was put back out i sat back down recorded time and weight in my log but did not get time to finish it as the rod next to it was now telling me to come and get it ,blimey they are having it tonight i thought again i was sooon playing another good zed and it was beaten quickly this time and was taken up for the customery photo and weighing and was returned this went 9lb

, i new trace was put on and again decorated with a fresh bait and dropped in the margin it went quiet for about 40 minute and
then it was time to go and try and connect with yet another zed as it tried to make its escape with my bait and it did i totaly missed the strike and it was off with it meal i once again put this rod out , i sat back thinking its been a good night and started packing away my gear when my far rod alerted me to more mayhem.i again was off down to the rod and this time it did not get away and a scrapy 7lb was soon banked and recorded i did not put the rod back out as it was now slowing down and i had a good distance to travel home but it has been a good session and i,m very happy

tight lines
