zeds

well yet again i manage to get out and have another session i will say this i nearly did not go but once i finally got away it was a bit of a rush to get down to the drains while the fish were feeding and for the past couple of weeks the feeding time was between 5pm and 7 pm so to not go till late and arrive at 5.30 was going to be tough any way i headed for a spot that has been kind to me in the past and with the clock ticking the rod were hasterly put together and banks sticks were put in and the leaning tower of pisa looked straighter , never the less i was fishing the first hour past with out a touch and my thoughts were i have missed the feeding time but sod it i thought i will just chill and see what happens .

another hour had passed and i was just watching the traffic in the distance crossing the bridge with their headlights twinkling between the railing when my left hand rod suddenly let out three quick beeps drawing my attention to it but nothing seemed to happen and i thought my lively had just moved but it went again three times and at this i got up to take a close inspection on what was going on, i turned my headlight on and pointed it towards the tip trying not to let it hit the surface as my bait was very close in , suddenly my tip pulled round gently but not enogh to set my indicator of but enough to know it was not the bait so i picked up the rod and struck and it thump hard and a zed was on, very quickly it was on the surface shaking it head in a last ditched attempt to win its freedom but to no avail it was scooped up in the seemingly massive net which dwarfed it and it was taken up to the unhooking mat and unhooked and quickly weighed (5lb) again not big but a nice fish and a very welcomed one at that.

sorry i started to digress away from the session it was soon released and i wished it a safe passage and could it tell its grandad to come and see me ( i can be siily sometimes ) any way nothing else came my way so i packed up at 9.45pm and came home content in again avoiding a blank

tightlines
