zed session

well again i made the 100 mile round trip to the fens tp gp after my quarry
as normal shot off to catch a few lives and then down to the drain i was going to fish on arrival i stood on the bridge deciding on wether this should be a roving session is decided not to rove and fish static although in my mind i was thinking cause of the condition this might be a mistake ,i was set up by 4.15pm and kettle was on for a welcomed cup of coffee ,i was half way through my coffee when my fixed paternoster alerted me and the drop off lift and pinged out of the clip i was straight down the slope to the rod lift up the rod and strike a bend came over the rod and a battle commenced ,it did not take long to get the fish under control and in the awaiting landing net and the pike was quickly unhooked ,weighed and returned to its home (12lb 2oz)
another bait was fished out and was soon decorating the hooks and lobbed just beyond the reeds and i returned to my chair to finish my coffee , another ten minutes past and a bleep on my dead bait made me sit up then another bleep folllowed shortly by the solar bobbin dancing its way up to the rod i was straight on it and struck quick but nothing damm i thought missed it ,
i soon had it rebaited and back in position awaiting a take as the sun set all was quiet and i was thinking was tonight going to be the night for a big one ,
beep beep! sounded and once again the rod i just recast was off beeeeeep! beeeeeeeeep ! i got to the rod and swept it back and the rod arced over and i was in ( i,m quick like that ) the destintive shake told me it was a zed and a feisty little zed was soon banked weighed it and recorded 4llb 7oz not very big but welcomed all the same the rod was again put out and as it was only 5pm i thought we are going to be in for a good session here (famous last words) cause for the next two and a half hour i did not get a touch so i made a decision to pack up as i felt nothing else would happen and was soon on my way home
