 Re: Forum Zander Meet anyone Good news - The canals shaping up nicely for the meet.  I did a longer session than normal today, although I did wonder why I got out of bed so early (0530  ) as the first fish didn't put in an apperance 'till 11. Anyway, I finished with 3 Zander - 5lb, 4lb & ½lb + 1 Pike around 8lb. I also lost another fish due to a hook pull. Once again I had a number of dropped takes and only caught these Zeds by fishing really quite small baits. __________________ E' Pest |

 Re: Forum Zander Meet anyone Fished okay today in a 6 hour session. I was South of the bridge this time - One Pike about 9lb and one Zed about 6lb. Suffered some more dropped takes and bumped two fish off on the strike. I'm convinced these are just micro Zeds. I resisted scaling down like my last visit although my current fish baits aren't exactly large Wondering how next weeks temps will affect sport. My experience is that it takes the fish a while to re-adjust  Not sure if I'll be there again next week anyway as I'm hoping to get an invite to a private fishery for a Pike session.  Re: Forum Zander Meet anyone Maybe next weekend I/we won't be fishing at all. Temps barely get above freezing from Monday onward the canal will freeze over if thats the case. Hopefully its only for the week and the meet day will be okay  ACCUWEATHER __________________ E' Pest |
