| Re: And more trips Unlucky on the blanks mate, Ive not caught a pike for weeks, not for the lack of trying I should add. Fished over 10 various canals, rivers and drains over the last couple of weeks and not a sniff from the water wolf !! Had a couple of nice perch the largest at 2.5lb at the weekend and a silver eel which took a float fished sprat. First eel Ive ever caught, got excited and thought I'd hooked into a 20lb'er (was fishing a new river where there was every possibility of anything up to a low 30) it was like a dead weight to pull in, guess it was spinning. It was only when it did not try to run at all that I thought something was up then it broke the surface. Weighed in at 4.5lb which I was pleased with, another species to add to the list!!Anyway the hunt continues! __________________ Species for 2011: Pike, Perch, Chub, Roach, Silver Eel, Thorn Back Ray. |

| Re: And more trips Were quite lucky down these parts with choice of venues, I live on the somerset levels which are crisscrossed with various drains and rhynes of differing sizes (King Sedgemoor Drain is supposed to be a premier fishing venue and has hosted the British championships, not been a good water for me though!!) as well as two large river systems and a lovely canal. Not sure whats up but the pike dont seem to be showing anywhere __________________ Species for 2011: Pike, Perch, Chub, Roach, Silver Eel, Thorn Back Ray. |
