| Zander in Norfolk I am a avid freshwater fisherman, catfish, carp, pike, pearch. I jave been holidaying in Norfolk, Cromer for the last 10 years fishing everynight both summer and Christmas - New year up and down the Salthouse - Walcotte coast. We have had some success and are fishing in the correct areas, with the correct bait and at the right times. We catch as much as the locals, however fishing is poor. Both myself and my friend had a thought that we could maybe focus on some Zander for a couple of nights. Could you please help advise me on any areas that could be good to fish? Many thanks MACCA ![]() |

| Re: Zander in Norfolk Hi I am not sure if any waters local to Cromer stock Zander, but if you are willing to travel for an hour or so there are plenty of waters that do stock Zander. Check out the KLAA web site, they have many miles of waters that contain Zander. The site lists the rivers and drains, check out what good Zander rivers/drains are connected to any rivers that are in your area. The dig drains hold some good sized Zander but are very daunting to fish. To increase your chances the river Ouse has areas that have larger stocks of Zeds but there is more travelling involved You could check the local match results, Zander are often caught in matches and matches that are won with weights of small fish, the Zander won’t be far away. Be prepared for a few blank nights, if you do get a few runs; make the most of it as the Zander can move off as quickly as they arrive. Good Luck Darrell |
