| summer predators Hi Guys I have been piking in the summer for the last 10 years never had a fish die yet.. However that dont mean it wont happen, i play them hard and unhook them fast and return gently.. not fished for zander in the summer as headless said eels can be a major problem. |

| Re: summer predators Hi Martopp, I too have gone for pike in the summer, using surface lures. They tend to take in the margins in any case - I have rarely had a summer fish either far out on the other bank, or even mid way accross the canal, so after a quick dive and a splash they are in the net, unhooked, and back in the water quickly. |
