I want a zander!!??

I've been attempting to fish for zeds for quite a long time on and off and im still to catch one! Im considering trying it on the river but I cant think of where they would be and pike wouldn't! every time I attempt for Zander I normally either catch a Pike or get a few small beeps on the alarm and it goes quiet again! Where can i target Zander on the river where Pike wont sit?

Any advice is helpful
Jords

Re: I want a zander!!??

Hi

Find the small fish and the Zander will not be far away.

During the day, fish areas that have cover and have a good depth of water.

Night fishing will increase your chances.

Have a trip on the Ely Ouse; it is day ticket water with a good head of Zander.

Use small freshwater dead baits, including Trout.

Make sure you have some Eel section with you, this time of the year you can get plagued by Eels and Crayfish.

Make sure your set up is a simple free running rig and is as sensitive as possible.

If you struggle, you are more than well come to join me later on in the year.

Good luck

Darrell
