| pike trip went piking this morning , fished 2 rods to the reeds on far bank, working my baits along the reed bed , hour an a half in got a run, strike and into a pike , a quick fight and fish is landed , nice conditioned pike about 10lb.. then moved down the drain 200 yards to the next set of reeds and repeated the same proceedure, must of been a good 2 hours before anything happened , then a shy bite/rattle which came to nothing.Gave it 10 minutes then reeled in the bait had slash marks in it all at far end of bait away from the hooks, would say that fish had wised up to dead baits. fished for another couple of hours but nothing else, finished quite happy, at least i did not blank     |
