BTW Ian - I'm the guy that came to see how you were getting on at the meet in January. It's too early for me to commit but I may drop in and see you again - hopefully to fish.

Richard (we spoke at Monk Meadow a couple of times) - I still haven't had one on the lure

The fishing was very slow. I had one Zed of about 2lb. JP lost one & towards the end of the day I looked a huge one that looked well into double figures. Sadly it shed the hook at the net. Thought it was a good pike at first, until we saw it. It was witnessed by the others though... The water was very coloured. This may explain why we had runs in daylight. I think Zander can cope with coloured conditions, as they have very good eyesight, adapted for low light conditions & a good sense of smell. Small to medium rudd were the bait, ledgered on the bottom. Had a good social though. Five forum members fished & Alex82 paid us a visit too. Nice to see Richard & Alex again. Rounded off the day with a nice curry at the Memories of India resturaunt Quedgley.

Re: Sharpness Canal next Saturday...

Unlucky Ian, losing a good fish, but promising that the group as a whole had some.

As the barbel fishing is now tailing off I'll be down there soon for a go myself.

Cheers

Steve
