One Of Those Days well yesterday can be classed as one of those days, or i am just crap one of the two. Started off on one drain piking ,two rods various baits and rigs, not a single bite. Then last night went zedding three rods cast nearside, farside and middle of drain fished for four hours and had one dropped run, and that was that,,,, until next time.

Re: One Of Those Days Thats fishing mate, especially with Zander as you can find what you think is a hot swim only for the old Zeds to vanish for weeks on end. Ive been targeting some of the tougher Fenland waters with blanks becoming the norm unfortunately, but these waters have reputations for big, outsize Zander so I guess its worthwhile to hear that line whistling during the hours of darkness.

Re: One Of Those Days Hello mate. If you went zedding on the drain i think it was, then the zeds dont appear to be on it or in the area as much as a few weeks ago. When I met you that time i ended up returning on the following sunday and wednesday after that and had a total of 19 zeds to 9lb 7oz. Since then i've been back three more times for 3 zeds, 2 of which came out to jig in daylight. I think the zeds have reacted to the recent pressure and moved upstream perhaps? Also started catching crabs and where i thought i was getting dropped runs i now think they are crabs not eels. Forgot the imported crabs name but apparantly spreding like mad on the drains. They mutalate roach baits and always seem to eat the eyes of the roach, looks like i might have to fish popped up roach to get round this. Have you come across these crabs yet ? Should be back fishing this Saturday doing afternoon and evening to bout midnight. Tight lines.
