Quick zander session

Well had a pass for two hours so walked to the canal for a quick zander session. I fished small chunks of roach on size two single hook on fine wire trace. Had two knocks and connected with this little zander which made me happy even though it was tiny

Will give it a go again on thursday but this time fish into darkness . If anyone fancies a fish just let me know.

Re: Quick zander session

Are you allowed to night fish the canal?

I have had quite a few Zander up to 8lb over the last month but with the hot weather and water temp rising the oxygen levels are low so I am not taking any pictures

I had a Zander around 7lb two weeks ago, after a good scrap and releasing the hooks it keeled over, I tried to revive the Zed but it did not make it

I always leave the Zeds in the landing net for a while once they are netted to allow them to recover before I remove the hooks and get them back in the water as soon as the hooks are free, holding them up right and not releasing them until they feel strong

It was the first Zed I have lost. I was totally gutted
