Unhappy Re: Zander fishing gloucester this saturday

Be Warned lads, the fishing for Zeds on thae canal is pants at the moment.
Of course that might be because I am a pants angler !

At least it is better than no fishing at all during the close season.

All the best when you get there.

Gerry

From our meeting on the canal a few weeks ago Gerry I would say you are far from a pants angler

If you say it is fishing pants I will wait until you say it is fishing well before I venture down there, unless you are giving us false info so you keep the Zander to yourself LOL

good luck for the future, when it does improve let us know

Regards

Darrell

Re: Zander fishing gloucester this saturday

I wish Darrell lol

I has 4 schoolies out a couple of weeks ago, but apart from that it has been pretty much dead for Zander.

Water colour varies from stretch to stretch but it has been changing day by day.
One day it's heavily coloured then next it's crystal clear.
Also, while there are Zeds the length and breadth of the canal, the usual dependable swims have been dead.

No sign of the usual Roach and Bream shoals either.

I posted on another forum the other day, that whilst I was walking the dog along the canal, I came across three dead Zander that had been chucked in some bushes.
Two were schoolies, but the other was a fish of about 8lb +
Around the corner were I found them, I had a chat with a couple of guys pole fishing who told me that they had been having trouble with Zeds in their swims and were very annoyed about the fact.
Concidence ? maybe, but I don't think so.
Shame.
I fished there the next day but had nothing.

I am sure the fishing will pick up soon enough.

All the best
Gerry
