Re: New Zander meet Date Poll

I fished the Ouse near me last week for zander, I caught two Zander around 4lb each and a couple of Jacks around the same wieght,

All where caught on small dead Roach, I did try Trout, Mack, Lamprey Eels and Bream but only had one missed run on Trout

I feel more confident using fresh freshwater dead baits, I think it depends on what bait fish are about in the canal as well

I have tried to get some info about the canal but there is little about but would imagine Roach and Gudgeon would work,

If the water is heaverly coloured then a bait like Trout and Sprats might give off more scent for the Zander to home in on

I am trying to get down to the Canal on Friday the 5th to get some local advise and hopefully to catch some fresh baits

Re: New Zander meet Date Poll

Richard (FFA) said Gudgeon are a good Zed bait for the canal. Aparently the canal used to be stuffed with em, but the zander have eaten most of the population.....
