LOL, That'll be me then. I had my winter flying suit in the car, but may possibly have looked a bit odd among all your three layers of camo if I'd rocked up in a bright red all in one with flourescent white stripes down the sides.

Re: New Zander meet Date Poll

Great day out, good to see those I've met at other forum meets again & to meet other forum members for the first time .
I arrived a little late (too much pre-fishing-faffing) but just in time to see Steve bank that cracking pike, well done mate More importantly I was in time for a hot bacon butty cheers Headless and glass of ginger wine - spot on Greenheart .
Set up next to TJ who kindly moved one of his lines to make room for me, promptly dropping his bait right on the nose on a hungry pike
Having never fished for zander before I'd been scouring through my old angling books for tips and hints , sort of paid off when I remembered reading that zeds love to lay up under bridges . Took spinning rod up(or was it down?)stream to the main road bridge and after a few cast the line went heavy with what felt like a dead weight that dragged evenly through the water. so much so that after a few seconds I was convinced I'd hooked a plastic bag ( on a venue so popular with dog walkers this was a frightening prospect) fortunately a few knocks on the rod showed that what turned out to be a sluggish jack pike was the culprit . ( a fish with a curious large lump behind one gill cover). Not the hoped for zander but very happy to have got a fish one what had been a tough day for fish landed.
Less fish action left plenty of time for good humored banter and a pint & good hot food in the pub rounded the day off perfectly (even made it home in time for last orders at my local).
That was my 3rd forum meet , have enjoyed them all and are well recommended to other members.
Cheers guys, see you at the next one.
