Kit list

Hi everyone,

Great forum - lots of information, slightly gutted on seeing the saturday meet too late as i have been thinking about giving zed fishing a bash all week.

thing is i dont fancy buying a whole new load of gear as i have never fished for predators before! i will be fishing a deadbait running ledger rig on the sharpness canal.

i have a stratos fox 7000e reel which if i have read up on correctly will take upto 10lb mainline - will that be sufficient?

i should really go buy a new rod but for the time being, will my barbel rod (12ft 2.25 test curve) be able to do the business?

Re: Kit list

Hi mate to me and I might be wrong but I would go for 15lb as the are some big pike in the canal and if you hook into one you need that xtra bit but the canal is snag free so you dont have to bully them out. You rod at 2lb seems fine

when you go next time pm me before hand and if you fancy a bit of company then if im free we will have a fish together
