Sharpness Canal Help

Hi everyone,

Im new to the forum and even newer to Zander fishing. I live near Thornbury and so a quick trip up the A38 I can be on the Glos/Sharpness canal. Having read as much info as I can find on this forum about the canal I had a look around Frampton tonight but there was very little happening on the surface.

Is this the right time of year to be trying to catch a Zander? Is the Frampton area the right place to start (I'm not after huge fish, just a zander!)?

Im accustomed to lure fishing and this would be my preferred method of catching zeds, are some areas better than others for this?

Any info would be greatly receieved,

Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Sharpness Canal Help

We had four forum meets on the canal before we caught our first fish, then just like bus's they all came along at once. We eventually found them by the new bridge in Gloucester. Nothing massive, but good fun none the less... Looking forward to hearing how you get on.
Here's the link to our trip.

Thanks for the replies,

Maybe I'll work my way along the canal towards glos until I find something I like the look of! I'll keep you informed!

Cheers
