| Re: zander fishing spain Hi catman Thankyou for your reply I think if I am right I may have met you about a week ago? I can see how you and most people would not belive the possibility of such a catch of fish but it is true. I have spent 3 years perfecting the lure fishing and many thanks to a guy who is in my opinion probably one of the top lure anglers in the world ( many beers and many lost lures was the cost to learn) If you would like the chance to give it a go then let me know It would be best to keep it open then I would let you know when the fish are having it. Kind regards Jeff wild Riba Roja |

| Re: zander fishing spain Good afternoon to all, I am from Spain and will move shortly to UK. I can help you with all these places if someone needs geographic or legal details. The zander (lucioperca) has a special species status in Spain. It's considered, as well as the pike and the catfish (siluro), as invasive fishes. Therefore any fish of this species is to be killed... Obviously here we are lots of people to protect them (trying to promote the catch and release). However the hotspots of Spain are good places for zander fishing. There's one single reason: all of those hotspots have been created and are controlled by French societies operating "fishing tours": Mequinenza, Río Ebro etc. That's why you will see in some of the "Ley de Comunidad", like Aragón, that zander is protected: limited in size and number of fishes. Just think for ex. that before the zander and catfish introduction, all those places were fantastic for bass and barbel fishing.... Well, anyway, if you are looking for good zander fishing, you could try: - Mequinenza - Río Ebro - Río Tajo, from Extremadura to Portugal - a number of lakes in the Guadalajara area These places are mainly free (only the community licence is required; really cheap, < 10 euros per year). Remember that except in the Aragón community, you will be fined if you release a zander, pike or catfish.
