Re: temps up

No Zed action but managed a couple of pike, for anyone thats interested the greebs seemed to be on some silver fish so hopefully the Zeds are not too far away, this was the top end, a bit back from the St Germans stretch

good luck
Tony

Re: temps up

Hi Chaps,

I fished Mon / Tues and Thurs on a big Fenland river mainly using lures but also a couple of Lives on Thurs afternoon after I could finally manage to catch a few of the little nightmares! Mon was best day with things sadly deteriorating after this, I was purplexed because the river actually looked better by the Thurs. Here are the average temperature readings for peak afternoon:

Mon - 43.8F (6.5C)
Tues - 42.5F (5.8C)
Thurs - 43.1F (6.1C)

Cold water this week I never managed a Zed, but did get a few Pike to double figures and a surprise 8lb 14oz Bream which took a 4in Shad! I've caught Zander in colder conditions in years gone by; and with a degree of regularity; but the hard bit in my opinion is, you have to work very hard or be very lucky to find them.

Kind regards,
Dave
