| Re: Oxford area zander? "2lb 12oz" is not a huge weight for a zander. I've fished the Oxford area intensively since I arrive 8 months ago, and I've never fished a zander including in the Cherwell. The place you speak about is probably around Marston (North oxford society). It's a relatively nice place and interesting for preadtors, but really disturbed by all the boats (and the river is rather small). I fish only predators in all the oxford area (as I like active fishing only), I expected to catch some zanders from time to time especially on the canal (which is far better), I know more or less all the canal from above Kidlington to the end I use floor techniques - jigs, soft baits, dead bait, hard lures, jerkbaits, Cochard weight (which is so good on perch and zander), all these techniques use to catch indiferently perch and zander, but till now I've not seen any zander in this area In general terms Oxford is not especially the best part of UK if you like dynamic fishing and predators, but if you fancy on a session some day, don't hesitate to tell me. __________________ Vous n'avez jamais vu l'aube.[...] Seul le pêcheur sait le gout exact du matin, le goût du pain et celui du café de l'aurore.
