Re: ramsey forty foot

Hi mate, fished the Forty Foot a good few times but over the last couple of seasons the zander have been a bit thinner on the ground. I dont know why this should be as in my opinion it used to be a banker for a zed or two.
The water is run by Ramsey & District and day tickets are available on the bank at around 3 quid. As for areas , I would keep on the move untill you locate the Zander, although the Pike are quite widespread.

Best of luck
Andy

Re: ramsey forty foot

thanks for your replies guys-appreciate them.had heard rumours that it wasn't fishing that well-but what the heck a pike or two and a bonus zed is a good day for us.will help us walk off the christmas excesses.will keep you posted.trying to get time off for good behaviour this weekend to try for a rather large pike last seen attacking a match anglers roach, looked a twenty to me,but perhaps that was wishful thinking !was going back to the car from a good day chub fishing on the nene and stopped to talk to some of the match guys-one was reeling in a 6 incher when the water erupted and the guy nearly had a heart attack.it looked huge.will let you know if i get let out and how i get on.cheers glenn

Re: ramsey forty foot

Hi Glen, i fish by the bridge near the Mobile Caravan sales, its off the road parking, a little futher on you can park off the road and drive along the drain, its a bit narrow and a 4x4 is handy. the bridge just before Ramsey there is plenty of parking off road but i have not fished this area much, as for paying, i fish the forty foot probably 2 or 3 times a year for the past 10yrs and have never seen a baliff, i have always had zander when i go, i always put a rod out for the bream and tench as well with good results

cheers Darrell
