| first Zed! Went for a bit of a lure fishing session on the Warks Avon at pensham on Saturday and had a bumper day! crept down to the first swim and flicked out a drop-fish style spinner under the overhanging branches of a tree, and 2 nd cast I connected with a lively Pike of around 4 lb  I slid him back after a quick photo (only had my phone with me so sorry for poor picture) and began casting a little further out in the same swim. A few cast later I connected with something fairly deep down, after a quick tussle my very first zander was on the bank!!!  well there were plenty more fish to come, although that was my only Zed, over the next couple of hours I managed another 6 pike. The biggest of which went just over 5lbs...not big fish, but great fun on my Shimano travel rod.    Then just as i was thinking about heading home, I picked up a couple of feisty little perch to complete the "grand slam" of predators!!   All in all a great little session and I'm really chuffed to have landed my first Zander!      |
