Hey there folks,

glad i found this forum. Just a brief intro of me and myself. Currently based in Leicestershire. Used to be a bass fisherman back home. Rather depressed to find that there's actually no freshy bass species here in the U.K. Not really into pikes. Zander/walleye found here happens to be the best substitute for bass. techniquewise, I do mainly pitching with spinnerbaits into weeds and structures. Caught many Zanders now since i started fishing here last year. Looking forward to knowing you guys!

btw, just to share a picture of the first Zander I caught, taken on a 1/8OZ spinnerbait from a nearby canal at mid-day last summer. didn't weigh it but estimate it to be about 3lbs. this unfortunate fish was bitten by a pike, or perhaps some other zander while i was fighting it. check out the cut on the rear of it's dorsal fin! I never actually saw that on the fish until i looked at the picture.

Thanks guys,

Have not caught any zeds for some time now. I guess it's probably due to the recent uncertain weather. Hopefully, the weather should settle down and the zeds should be feeding.
