Zander advice/kit required by novice

Hi Folks,

I've not fished since I was at school (LONG time ago!) and I'm off narrowboating on the rivers Avon/Severn for a week at the start of July.
I want to buy a rod & kit for a chilled bit of float or spinning off the back of the boat and hope to occasionally catch lunch...

I have read it's a good place for Zander & wondered if you could advise me on what kit I should be looking at to fish with?
I have absolutely NOTHING bought & I'd rather know what the correct things I should be buying rather restricting myself by cost at this point.

The only thing I need is a short breakdown length of <60(ish) cm as I want to carry it on my bike. Everything else I need?...well, I ain't got a Scooby!

Thanks in advance for any/all your advice,
Jim

Hi mate are you after the kit for just zander fishing ?

Cannot go wrong with a fox WARRIOR XT 2lb or 3lb rod and AERO GTE 8000B reel on 15lb line but thats my personnal chioce

As for the fishing well they are there !!

There are some cracking posts in the zander forum so best thing is to grab a coffee and go through them mate
