plugger, this may help, cut & paste to browser, BUT remove bracket either end. brackets inserted to disable html link , can't remember if they're allowed here.

Re: new passage

i think 'new passage' refers to the rail tunnel .
hence its on both sides, at redwick in england and sudbrook ? on the welsh side.
click my link, expand the map and take a look.
if memory serves , theres no near exit off the m4 so it may be easier to cross on the m48 bridge and turn left onto the avonmouth road , pass under? the m4 and left at the next roundabout back over the m4 to redwick. if you want to try this side.
it looks like the deeper channel is on the welsh side

geejayy. ( bin for a look but not fished it.)

Hi Plugger,

After crossing the "Old" Severn Bridge towards Bristol and just after toll booths take the next exit off.

Follow the signs for Avonmouth..... once on the dual carriageway you will cross over the motorway and then come to a set of traffic lights.

At these lights turn right go through a small hamlet until you come to a mini roundabout.

At this roundabout take the exit marked New Passage which is the third exit. DO NOT TRY AND GO BACK ONTO THE MOTORWAY

Follow this road as far as you can. You can either park up on the left by the houses or there is a small grassy bit that you are allowed to park on in fron of the new houses.

Go through the Metal Gateway and then walk down the ramp onto the walkway.

It's comfortable fishing but don't do as the "Boys" did and get there too early cos there is no water until 2.5 hours before high....... But you need to see the type of ground before you start fishing.

The good pegs are the first 3 or 4 including the corner as you walkround.

Best tides are 12.5 metres and above. Don't bother to fish anywhere our side up the channel on neaps or middle range tides.

Best baits rag and squid or lug and squid. Sometimes Conger get caught on whole squid or frozen mackeral.

I hope this helps.
