lets see - theres port eynon on the south coast of gower. the campsite is a whopping 2minutes walk from the beach and rock marks (12lb bass and 11lb bass were the last tiddlers i heard of coming from here last november to the same angler!!). Facilities include chip shops and even a shop where u can buy bucket and spades - just incase u feel like exploiting the untouched lugworm beds on the beach.

or perhaps if push comes to shove you would have to camp at Llangennith. Again 2minutes from the beach - and yes this is the beach that a 16lb 30z former welsh record bass was caught from in the 70's. Theres a pub full of surfey chicks and a free minibus that ferries u from the pub to the only club on gower and then back to the campsite for a fee of £2!! camping here costs £11 per night per tent.
if you would like to learn more about llangennith take a look at the pics and info on my website (at the bottom of this thread)

2 Mins? Thats an outrage! Looks like the second one for me!

Rob

but llangennith would leave you sandwiched between the mighty worms head and burry holms island.. surely this is not adviseable rob. you will never make it to the pub!!

Re: Gower Peninsula - Meet

yeah we would have to tie JB to the radar post with loadsa short snoods baited with fish so that the seagulls use him as a feeding post. of course we would leave him up there for the entire 8hr trip.....

welsh wizard has kindly checked his tidebook and I have now emailed the skipper to check if the tides are available - will update the boat thread once i hear bk from him....

Re: Gower Peninsula - Meet

Oi JP - NO!!!! I hate seagulls with a passion!

Perhaps I'd better re-assess my intention to come LOL.

As it happens, I've a stag do on the w/e June 18th (Boozing in Brussels) and another one two weeks later - 2nd July, (Clay Pigeon shooting and beer, definitely in that order ;-) ), so I guess my availability is a bit limited.

Sounds like a cracking trip chaps, but if I can make it, I will. May as well get all that fishing in before the shackles of marriage. Having said that, we've been living together for 8 years, and she's not moaned yet!!

Cheers,
JB.
(A bit scared now, frankly)
