Re: Redwick area .....

Just sent you a PM, next Thursday evening sounds ideal high tide 12.5m at around 20.30 (Newport) and other days will be a struggle for me time wise. Redwick or Sudbrook?

Cool Re: Redwick area .....

Hi guys,

Don't know if can make it yet. But some info for you.

Area to be fished: Sudbrook

Don't know where you get your tides from but this is it for Thursday:

Sudbrook tides 28-10-2004

They are big tides two days in a row, so best fished 3 hours up to high, and maybe 1-1/2 hours over.
Put it this way, I would not try and launch a boat from Beachley slip after high tide!!
You will need 6-7ozs of lead, breakaways and use bait shields, cos you may have to cast a fair distance circa 80-100 yards.

It will be racing through so cast well up from yourself and uptide fish.

Best baits... Lug and Squid cocktail, Rag and Squid cocktail... or just plain squid for the Conger. If you have any fresh black lug all the better. Change your baits every 15 minutes.

Re: Redwick area .....

Hey Guys,

Me and my mate (Kit) are gonna be in Lavernock all this week - would love to join you too, if that's OK .. hopefully gonna meet up with JP anyway, so we can all work something in.

I don't think there's a phone in the chalet at Lavernock point where we're staying, so I don't know if we'll get a chance to look on here.

Cheers,
JB. <- v.excited about a week's fishing (hooray!)

Re: Redwick area .....

Yeah, was hoping it would pass by Thursday evening. Spent Sunday night in my mobile home in South Devon wondering whether the thing would blow away, wife and kids are still down there and the weather looks even worse tomorrow night! Typical as it is about the only chance I'll have to fish for ages

Got my info from easytide with Newport as the port rather than Avonmouth. Times are about right as we are still in BST so need to add the hour on. Never know which port is best for Goldcliffe / Sudbrook but assume Newport is as they are on the same bank.
