| Jan 22 ..WInd,Sunshine,Hail and COD !!!!!!!!! At last !...We got out to do some fishing after a few weeks of gales and rain,we sneaked out in to brisk Westerly winds ,which are fishable off Penarth.The wind picked up through the morning ,makinf it difficult to stand up at times,but dropped off around low water only to be replace with squally winds and hail storms.Around 20 Cod to 7 lb boated ,with around a dozen keepable, the rest swam off to fight another day.All fish came to sizeable fresh Lug and Squid coctails fished uptide on running ledger tackle. A good offshore swell,made interesting fishing conditions all morning...  Some decent fish boated thro the day to 7 LB    Lots of small whiting and codling ,trees and rocks around too.....    Fishing got a bit hard with squala and horizontal hail !!!!  The view on the way home wasn`t too good either  __________________ Mike.. Hello mike I looked for you out there but didn't see you. those squalls were like a freight train going through at a 100 mile an hour but as you say quiet fishable in the bigger boats. You had a near identicle day to us we were out on the benjoma too and kobe in the same lock going out was leah james and OLD pete carney chara (he loves those inshore marks) we had 20 cod 15 of those were takers on the benjoma (7 anglers) and kobe had 19 cod (6 anglers) and 10 keepers we measure our fish for our comp and 72cm won the biggest fish which was around 7lb the 68cm fish weighed 6lb12oz black lug and squid the top baits. other fish landed were whiting conger and skate.NOT ONE DOGFISH seen.must be a first for a long time. charlie.....    __________________ MIB Boat Angling Club |
