| first kayak trip of the year went down oxwich saturday for 3 hours over low water. took the kayak and went out onto the wreck, decided to fish really light with a 25gram spinning rod 8lb line and a small pike float, trotting into the wreck with lug and mackeral for bait, had about half a dozen whiting upto just under the pound mark and a couple of doggies - boy do they give a good fight on really light tackle. for the last hour paddled out to the bay and fished just worm and had acouple of flounder, again they gave a good account of themselves. not as cold as i thought without the wind as oxwich was so sheltered, can't wait for the weather to warm up there are so many fish i want to get off the yak this year -rays,smoothies,bass,bream,triggers, pollack, wrasse, plaice turbot and tope....anything with fins basically john     |
