| Cod tonight? I can't believe that I took two weeks off for Christmas and haven't managed to get out once! Looks like a break in the wind this evening and tomorrow morning so planning to head out around 9 pm and slowly make my way up the channel to the Mid Grounds. I imagine there will be a fair bit of crap in the water but hopefully the cod will show a couple of hours into the ebb. Will stay out if the fish are there and aim to get back late morning. If I can stay awake and there's anything worth reporting I will post the results when I get home. Cheers Dave     |

| Re: Cod tonight? It's now 5.45 AM - Just got back and I think Kaptin Cod is still out there. Lot's of codling about,two of us fishing had 25 - 30 in total , all between 2 - 5lb. A few decent whiting and one Ray around 9lb. Fished about 2 miles off the Rhymney River at the start of the ebb and we had 4 codling there. Moved to the back of the Mid Grounds to fish the last 3 hours of the ebb and we were kept busy the whole time with decent codling - no doubles but plenty of fish so I'm not going to grumble, a fair bit of weed in the water but well fishable. Used lug,rag,squid and small cuttlefish and the squid seemed to do best. Best of luck to anyone heading out over the weekend and I'm off to bed now. Cheers Dave |
