| Thursday 28th Report Managed to get out in the boat for the first time in a month after cancelling 4 trips ! Very brief report on the fishing and lack of cod - had a great time out there in the warm conditions and nice sun - felt more like a spring day than christmas time. Between four of us we managed 2 very small cod about a pound each, a 2 pound whiting, conger to about 6 pounds and the best a thornie just over the 9 pound mark. Me and Shads managed to beat our old mans - landing all the fish and the 2 old boys blanking - a rare but very enjoyable occurrence ! Spoke to a few boats back in the lock and it appears we did very well with very few fish being taken abd certainly out of the 13 boats near us on the north buoy we didnt see any with any good catches - a very slow but fun day. The tides werent very high so I guess that didnt help but a day in the boat is better than nothing - cant wait for the next few weeks and another go at them there cod ! | Re: Thursday 28th Report At least you got out. I saw that report of a guy from Chepstow falling off the rocks at Sudbrook and wondered if it was you at first, can't believe how lucky he was! |

| Re: Thursday 28th Report Tommy, some guys were fishing on the rocks and got tangled. One tried to sort it out and fell about 20 or 30 feet landing on his back apparently. Rescued by the Severn rescue boat and helicopters I think but he was pretty much uninjured luckily. Very lucky the way the tide comes in in this area!!! |
