Went out yesterday morning in a gentle southerly and rising tide. Fished near the Mid Cardiff buoyage. The sun actually came out around 1100. Caught 2 cod of about 3 and 4 lb and a 13lb conger just before high water. As the tide turned so did the weather. The wind picked up and so did the chop. I managed to get one more cod of about 4lb before having to call it a day. The waves were showing white horses and I knew the forecast was for more. Never-the-less I had a good day and was home before the rain came.

Just a word on sprats - the cod were full of them when I gutted them.

Well done for getting up and at em! It's fishing well up that end as long as the weather holds for a few hours , mixed feelings on the sprats, can be a pain if the cod start gorging on them but on the other hand it could hold them in the channel longer and there could be more for us when they fancy some smelly worm and squid for a change.
