Hoping to get out for a christmas cod bash on Wednesday if the weather holds - any reports of people fishing before that would be great - need to try and get a few !

we were out Saturday from 1pm until 1am

very slow going managed a few codling biggest only 3lb ish, had a 10lb eel, a few thornies, doggies and some whiting biggest 1lb 4oz ish.

nice day though and good to be out after all this bad weather, I know a few boys of another forum were out on a charter down newport way and they only had 5 codling biggest 3lb 2oz so wasn't the only one struggling.

Arse - that sounds crap - was hoping to get out and find a few decent cod before the sprats show up and ruin our efforts. Will let you know how we get on mate.

Fishing better further up the channel at the mo,still some nice fish coming off Penarth ,and at last the weathers looking great for a change,were out thursday so lets hope the sun shines.....

I think you will find the sprat have been around for a while and from what I hear they have broken up to a certain extent.

going out myself on wednesday,hoping for a nice big cod to get the ball rolling for xmas,planning a few trips out over the break, give us a call on the radio, boat name gust 2. have a good un.

Poxy weather - bloody postponed again due to the fog ! Now planning another trip next Thursday so will report anything if we ever get out !
