Monday 13th Dec.

Well I managed to get out on Monday and what a great day out it turned out to be. Four cod came to the boat the best one 8.5lb.
Also a conger about 5lb,a 6.5lb thornback
a couple of doggies and a whiting.
All that was on the ebbing tide. The cod came on my first cast and I thought "what a day this is going to be". As it turned out it was the best fish of the day. I would have liked to fish the top of the flood tide but by the time the wind had dropped enough for me to venture out, the tide was on its way back. But I stayed out all afternoon then and by dusk it was flat calm.
.
Rag and squid were the deadly baits. Massive baits though alternating with rag and a slice of gutted squid about 9" up the line.

Re: Monday 13th Dec.

Well done mate where were you - out near the North Buoy - hoping to get out myself on Friday if the winds stay light and have three hours on the ebb out round that area. Its a small tide but its got to be worth a go eh - havent managed to get out for three weeks and weve cancelled four trips !!

Well done on a cracking day.

Tommy

Re: Monday 13th Dec.

Hi Tommy,
I dont know if you can see from the photo but I was tucked in the Rannie Bay about 500m from the shore. I ventured out to the mid cardiff but came back in shore later on which is where I nabbed the thornie.
