Andy`s blustery day.

It must have been blowing force 5-6, but because it was westerly I thought i`d give it a go. As it was only a neap tide, I decided to fish the ebb as I wasnt going to get very far out because of the wind and I thought the ebb would produce a bit more flow on the tide. Dropped anchor off the Rannie and the wind blew my stern towards the Monkstone Light throughout the afternoon. So hardly any tide and plenty of wind (there were only 2 other mugs out there that I could see). Anyway, to cut a long story short, I ended up with 2 codling in the 2-3lb range a couple of doggies and plenty of strap conger. What was dissapointing were the amount of bites I missed. I know that one was due to my bait falling down the line and masking the hook but once i`d corrected that mistake I still missed loads. Just as they came off the bottom I could feel the fish dancing on the line and then off it went. A good day though. Pity I couldnt get out to the big stuff but even the 2 charter boats out there came to join me in the shelter of the cliff. Maybe next time....Maybe.
